Bangkok Grand Palace Tours

The Grand Palace is situated in the Chao Phraya River ‘Island’ named Rattanakosin (Old City) created by King Chakri, Rama I in 1782, for the Thai Royal district of Phra Nakorn. The Grand Palace and Temples are a central part of this incredible creation, which engenders the most romantic vision of exotic Thailand. It’s breathtaking complex of structures in Glistening Gold, mosaic-studded Glass Pillars with towering mythological Gods, fabulously ornate Temples and Palace Structures reach upwards and appear to pierce the skyline.

If you have the time, visit other parts of the Old City around the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) including Lak Muang or City Pillar, which marks the official centre of the Capital, the Museum of Old Cannons, the Sanam Luang (Royal Field) where important ceremonies are held, the National Theatre, National Gallery and National Museum, Thammasat University, Silpakorn University, Wat Mahathat and Wat Pho.

You simply have to go there by day to see the intricate features and structures started by Rama One and continued to this day, by the reigning Monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama Nine.
